Chief Vance Olivier
Vance Olivier is a 26-year veteran of the Lafayette Police Department. He has worked in many different roles, including patrol officer, field training officer, K9 officer, recruiter, watch commander, and lieutenant of the criminal investigation division. With over 32 years of experience, he has experience at every level of policing, so understands the unique needs of officers at every level.
As a leader in law enforcement, Olivier and the Broussard Police Department will always respect and cooperate with the criminal justice system they serve. Olivier has shown his department is tough on crime and considers the safety and well-being of the citizens of Lafayette Parish his top priority. Olivier is a strong advocate for law enforcement officers and a true asset to the Lafayette Police Department.
In 2021, Olivier was selected to serve as interim police chief of Broussard, during a special meeting of the City Council. Olivier has shown his dedication to the citizens of Broussard through his years of service and as Police Chief will continue to work hard to keep Lafayette Parish a safe and thriving community for all its residents.
